The Department of indian Post office is proud to announce that the next generation APT application is being launched. This move will be a major milestone in our journey towards digital excellence and nation building. Under this transformational initiative, the advanced system will be implemented in these post offices in Delhi from 21st July 2025.
Many Indian post offices in Delhi will remain closed for the general public on Monday (July 21). The Postal Department is upgrading its computer system to a new version called ‘Application for Post Office Transaction 2.0’.

This upgrade will make Indian post office services faster and safer than before, especially during the busy time of filing Income Tax Returns (ITR).Services will be temporarily closed to prepare for the new digital system on 21 July 2025.
The Department of Posts is updating its system to a new and advanced digital platform. To make this change safe and smooth, all services will be temporarily closed at selected post offices in Delhi on Monday, 21 July 2025. No public transactions will be done during this period.
This temporary pause is necessary to safely transfer our data to the new system, check the setup and make the new system work properly. This will ensure that you get better, faster and more convenient services in the days to come.
The new APT application is designed in such a way that it will improve the customer experience and speed of service than ever before. Also, it will provide a more intuitive and easy-to-use interface, making post office services smart and future-ready.
